44 Auto Mechanics Gfferecl At Tech To Gain Skills The rising need for well trained auto mechanics and elec- tricians gave many students at Iefferson a common goal. The job openings for high school graduates with on-the- job experience is tremendous. The will to learn gave these students a good chance at a promising future. Automotive electricity, a two-year program and auto mechanics, a three-year course, consisted of three hours of class work each day. In each of these courses, students at Tech were eligible for three credits per quarter toward graduation. Students in these courses worked in modern repair shops, with up to date tools, equipment and methods. CHJT 4? tc

Rewarding Future In Metal Trades Awaits Graduates Metal Trades ia a vital part of the United States. Workers manufacture thousands of machines and metal products each year. The metal trades students at Tech were taught the neces- sary skills needed for gainful employment in a job, with the class consisting of welding, machine shop and metal work. This course is a two or three-year program, with three hours of shop work each day. Upon graduation of the course students were legally employable as workers in the metal trades. Students must be sophomores or juniors at time of enroll- ment for this course and must be male. They must also have taken drafting and one year of related math.
