All-Jefferson Couple Chosen B Facult Seniors were nominated and elected by the faculty and administration, based on academic and extracurricu- lar achievements. During her fresh- man year, Pat Gonzales received a Scholastic award and was Freshmen Council Vice-President. When a sophomore and junior she was Stu- dent Council Vice-President. She was a Silver Hostess member as a junior and president as a senior. Dur- ing her junior year, she was in the speech club, and served on the Superintendent's and Principal's Advisory committees for two years, was in National Honor Society, and received a Daughters of the Ameri- can Revolution Good Citizenship award. She received a grant for the National Science Foundation Summer Pro- gram in North Carolina, and traveled to Europe with the Choir of the Southwest. She participated in the senior science seminar and was an elementary Science Fair judge. Pat participated in the A orchestra for three years and was elected to All- City and All-Region orchestra as a junior. As a senior she was elected Orchestra Sweetheart. As a freshman, Adolfo Arteaga par- ticipated in football and basketball and was a member of the Student Council. During his sophomore year he was a senator in the Sophomore Council and traveled to the Dallas Student Council Convention. As a junior, he was class president and a senator of the Student Council. He traveled to San Antonio for a Stu- dent Council convention. He was active in the National Honor Society and went to Ballstate University in Munnice, Indiana, for an Electronics program. During his senior year he was Stu- dent Council president, Lion of the month for October, a member of the senior youth optimist club and helped rebuild the Foxx radio.
