The B-Teamers were guided by Head Coach Phil Sanders and assistant Tony Evans. The football team suffered deeply in scoring strategy as opponent defenders held the Fox squad from winning several games by a close two-point margin. Head Mentor Sanders mentioned the team put in their best effort but they still lacked the full offense-defense material because of the students who didn't join and those that were drafted to the varsity level. Rookies Capture District Crown For Fifth Year Iefferson's Rookie football squad, directed by head coach Mr. Phil Hatch and assistant Mr. Ioe Melendez, managed to finish the season with the fifth consecutive freshman district crown. They ended with a 6-0-1 district slate and a 7-1-1 overall record. Defense was their main asset on the team's playing strat- egy as they shut-out their opponents on six occasions and held their district opponents to 12 total season points. Standouts on the team were Keith Wilkerson, Bobby Rosales and Frank Huerta. Their single loss was to the non-district team of Eastwood by a 12-7 score.
