PHYSICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT Much importance is being placed on physical fitne-ss. Jefferson offers football, basketball, baseball, track, tennis, and P.E. classes to keep the body healthy and active. Drivers Education is also offered as part of this department with a behind-the-wheel course. With this department Jefferson hopes to create alert bodies for alert minds. But I don't want a flat stomach! FINE ARTS DEPARTMENT Student body and public alike enjoy the combined efforts of the Music, Art, and Speech Departments, annual productions. HOMEMAKING DEPARTMENT Students participating in home economics classes acquire many practical skills which are of great benefit now and in the future. These courses are designed to help girls become better homemakers. Both the sewing and foods department are equipped with modern appliances.
