MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENT Basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry are offered in the Mathematics Department. Accelerated courses in calculus, analytical geometry, and elementary functions are also available to those students desiring to further their studies in higher math. Often various colleges offer advanced placement tests which enable those students who have taken calculus and analytical geometry to be placed in higher mathematics courses. Courses in biology, chemistry, and physics are offered in Thomas Jeffersonas Science Department. Since great stress is being placed on science during this HSpace Agef the program at TJ is keeping pace hy offering an accelerated physics course. It is an introductory college course which makes use of theoretical physics rather than applied physics. Laboratory assistants are an important part of the Science Department. They are an asset to the instructor while also having the opportunity to further their scientific knowl- edge.
