:.'.'... ...- af l l.l.l JI a 1 URI Since 1884, the Dallas Independent School District has been under the direc- tion of a Board of Education, composed of civic-minded citizens elected to serve Without remuneration to supervise the education of the youth of the community as completely as possible. The School Board controls the budget, contracts for building and expansion of the educational plants, participates in national educational programs, and studies the needs of the child in relation to the community itself.
