THE COUNSELORS The duties of the counselors encompass a wide variety of enterprises, from conducting an exten- sive information service to certifying students for graduation. Mrs. George and Miss White, Jeffer- son's counselors, conduct their programs with the efficiency and patience that ensures a smooth-run- ning curriculum. It is also a part of their task to announce the various scholastic honors awarded during the year, to coordinate the American Field Service program, to conduct the testing program, to evaluate students' credits, to enroll and to super- vise schedules, and to conduct personal counsel- ing. TORBETT W. CROFT ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL The quite varied duties of the Assistant Princi- palship demand patient understanding as well as firm control. Our Assistant Principal, Torbett W. Croft, has fulfilled this demanding position admir- ably. Educated at Paris Junior College and North Texas State College, Mr. Croft holds the Bachelor of Science degree from New Mexico State Univer- sity and the Master of Science degree from East Texas State College. AnNuNls'rRAnoN The administration of a large high school is an arduous task Which requires the time, talents, and dedication of very capable personnel. Jefferson has just such administrators, who are able to coordinate the educational and social program into one harmonious, smooth-running operation. Through the offices of the Principal and the Dean, the many and varied functions which are vital factors behind the life of the school are competently carried on. EDITH COOPER DEAN The duties of the Dean range from the supervision of attendance to counseling, from advising upon the social life of the school to the keeping of untold records. Mrs. Edith Cooper, our Dean, man- ages all these tasks with wonderful cahn and skill. OFFICE STAFF Behind the scenes - and occasionally in front of them or on top of them - we find at Jefferson a well- organized group known as the Office Staff. These patient ladies hear all the tardy excuses, check illegible attendance slips, hunt down lost students, and carry on other such tasks necessary to the efficient operation of a high school.
