THE ++++++++++++++++' 4+ +++++++++++++ ++ F I AL PROBLEM ff I ,, , 5 Is this a Regents which I see before me, the questions towards my face? Come, let me clutch thee. VVill I pass? I know not, yet I see thee still. Art thou not, fatal enemy, harsh unto my grades as unto my feelings? Ur art thou but a misery to the Il1II1Ll, a horrible creation that proceeclecl from The brilliant teachers' brains. Thou temp'st me to use a gyp sheet and Such an instrument Ill like to use. My intelligence is made a fool of by The others, for look at all the rest. The room is still and on my paper, Answerless questions, which was never so before. Thou art a terrible Thing whose contents bring one thought only to my mind, now half which is NVorking. And to my tired brains my answers seem dead, and wicked Dreams abuse these torturous hours. The faculty celebrates. Thou sure and firm-set heaven, hear my prayers, which way they walk, for I Fear this exam will determine my whereabouts. I beg you, take the present Horror from mine eyes. WVhile my soul dies. my teachers happily lives And feelings of anguish my heart gives. I go and it is done: The bell invites me. But lack of time made it to be A knell, that summons me to heaven tgracluationj or to hell fnot gracluatingj. Phyllis Saretm l j 'W ,, ,,, V ' ,

The zfIllC'5!lfIll'6' 0 ' T THE PI IK CARD I walked into jefferson and I did frown, For all of the stairways were marked UP and DOXVN. I followed all rules and did not try, Even after three years, them to defy. I trod through the stairways. each day for three years, And always gave heed to the signs of my peers. I followed all rules, but then came the day, VVhen a stairway marked DOXVN was to cause my dismay I cautiously climbed as the kids ran right past me, A big guy came by and he wanted to blast me. I ,got to the top and lo and behold, A teacher was waiting, month open to scold. Get down to the bottom. I heard him scream and cry I felt like a fool and I wanted to die. I was quite embarrassed and counted to ten. But when he wasnit looking I tried it again. I almost succeeded, but when I reached the top stair, He called np to me but I didnt care. So he screamed and yelled, And he didnit let me speak, His reign was soon over ,... I CRADUATED THAT VVEEKY Adrienne Potaslinian We rang the bell for the elevator and after a five-minute wait got to the second floor.
