ATTer dropping The iniTial conTesT 6-O, The boys bounced back, Turning in consecuTive wins over Teams ThaT mosT experTs gave us liTTle chance oT beaTing. Coming Trom behind in all Three TilTs, The niclaelmen emerged The vicTors againsT Poly Prep, Seward Parlc, and STuyvesanT, The Tinal scores reading l9-I4, I2-7, and I3-I2 in The respecTive conTesT. Though only 5 TeeT 9 inches Tall, Jacks drive and deTensive lcnow- how made him a perTecT man on The deTens sive, while his seT shoT accounTed Tor many JeTTerson Tallies. AT cenTer Jaclc Gordon was a valuable man on The Team, under The boards and in The pivoT sloT. The amazing one- handeid push shoTs neTTed by popular CuT- Ty Rosenberg placed him second in The scor- ing ToTals. CuTTy will long be remembered as The boy ThaT clinched The division TiTle Tor JeTT wiTh a lasT minuTe one-handed Tield goal againsT Boys. AT The season's end our squad boasTed seven wins and one loss in PSAL compeTiTion. ln The Brooklyn championship playoTT be- Tween JeTTerson and Erasmus, our slowness in geTTing our aTTaclc sTarTed cosT us The game and so ended JeTTerson's never dying hope Tor a ciTy crown in I943. JeTTerson came ouT wiTh renewed hopes in '44, The Team Tailed To place second in The division aTTer a hearT-brealcing one poinT loss To EasTern. LasT year's rosTer included Rosenberg, Ro- sen. WiTkin, lvlessinger, Seymour Ooshie ReiTT, Joe PasTuch, Murray RosloTslcy, Marvin lvlahl, and Shelly Berl4owiTz. Rosen, WiTl4in and Messinger were all comparaTively liTTle men, buT Their brillianT seTshoTs and clever ball handling enabled The squad To worlc per- TecTly as a well-TuncTioning uniT.
