The girls' tennis team worked very hard last year and with only nine players on the team, they had a good season. Coach Tricia Pitts spent many hours helping the girls improve their tennis skills. With the loss of only one senior on the 1980 team they expect to have an even better season in 1981. On the boys' tennis team the top two seeded players, Scott Wilds and Tony Floyd, will return this year to lead the team. Last year Coach Harry Frampton worked with the boys to develop and strengthen their talents. They are looking forward to a good season this year. During the Athletic Awards Banquet last May the girls' tennis Coach's Award was given to Becky Reep. The Player's Award was given to Stacie Wil- liams. On the boys' team Scott Wilds received both the Coach's and Players' Award. 27

Volleyball Team . . . ... A Team Wtih Class State Runners-Up . . . . . . Region Champs The Girls Volleyball Team ended their regular season 15-3 and 4-0 in region play. They went to Moncks Corner to play in the state Class A Tour- nament for private schools. The girls made it to the finals and played Lord Berkeley. They lost the match after taking Lord Berkeley to three games. Lord Berkeley has had a team for eight years and has been in tournament play before. The girls played very good and for a two-year team showed a lot of class. The team ended the season 17-4. We look forward to a good season next year because we only lose one player, Faith Williamson. Faith helped the team tremendously and she will be missed greatly. Serving as statistician and score- keeper for the volleyball team this year was Robin Chaplin. Clockwise from bottom left: Angela Casper, Mary Lynn Threatt, Heidi Wilson, Kim Griggs, Barbara Roseveare, Becky Reep, Faith Williamson, Ashley Pitts, Julie William- son, Louise Lawton, Beth Outlaw, Coach Sheila McWaters.
