Mrs. Julia Morrison sponsored this large group of seventh, eighth, and ninth graders who maintained high scho- lastic achievement through- 40 out the year. SENIOR BETA CLUB The Beta Club has been productive in its efforts this year. Its major presentation was the Christmas play, A Christmas Carol. All members participated to make it a big success. The Beta Club also held a Homecoming dance in a gaily decorated gym after the football game. The members organized the Homecom- ing activities during this game. The Beta Club was un- der the helpful direction of Mrs. Carmen Henderson. Lucy Reep, secretary-treasurer; Sharon Cauthen, president; Teresa Carter, vice-president. I thought the deadline was the fourteenth, not the fourth. Why didn't anybody tell me? Quick, Rob- bie, come help me find those pic- tures you took the other day. Thanks. I suppose I'll use THESE, and I'll put THOSE in the reject folder . . . . . . Now, to draw the layout. This shouldn't take too long . . . Oh, no! I've drawn it on the wrong size 3-R paper. Oh, well, back to the drawing board. Next, to crop the pictures . . . Whew! All of the pic- tures fit for once . . . And now to write some copy. I never could write copy very good. Oh, well, I tried. Let's see now, should I type it in Register Gothic or Heritage Roman (whatever that is )? Hey, that doesn’t sound too bad after all! And now for the finishing touches. I'll stamp and label these pictures, decide on a headline, mark the special effects and . . . VOILA!! Mrs. Sally Gainey, dedicated to boosting school spirit, organized and led the club. All members worked hard to instill spirit with many projects. Posters and but- tons with spirit slogans were made. Cake raffles were held and plans to encourage game at- tendance were devised and car- ried out. The Pep Club organized a huge bonfire and pep rally in collaberation with the cheerlead- ers. Members agree that all the time and effort they devoted to the Pep Club was well worth see- ing the boost in school spirit. hat SPIRIT?
