Culminating a decade of intensive research, the epic-making expedition pro- vided eager scientists with knowledge essential for future space exploration. Promoting intellectual growth, Chesterfield County constructed two modern educational facilities. An expenditure of almost one million dollars insured school board officials of elaborate accommodations for improved institutional administration. Shelv- ing for bookmobile volumes and office space for li- brarians occupied an extensive addition to the Ches. ter library. Attorneys representing Richmond and Chesterfield battled for months over the controversial issue of an- nexation.
