Virginia Linda Spinner Sue Taylor Bradley Ridout Dwayne Price Co-Editor Co-Editor Business Manager Circulation Manager I Foreword A Thomas Dale graduate has two strong links with the past. The first of these, the REFLECTOR, will be a recollection of all the things filling his life at Thomas Dale and will strengthen his memories of his school. The other connecting link is the Thomas Dale ring he wears. These two links meet and are joined in the 1962 REFLECTOR, having the class ring as its theme. Table of Contents Advertisements rrnmtof THE UBRAg OP VP?,GINT 2 ' Features Dedicated to Our Parents Through our lives adults have given us gr idanci In the school and church we have strong leaders. M any rf us are influenced by other men and women, neighbors or friends. The two most im- portant may be taken for granted, and remembered as an afterthought. These two people are both doers and teachers, doing and teaching both the commonplace and extraordinary. By their doing we have learned the essential commonplace tasks of mowing the lawn, washing the dishes, and the like. Only from them could we learn the essential attitudes which are both common- place and extraordinary. These attitudes are the foundations for our opinions throughout our lives, and determine which influences later affect us most. They are more than our present providers; they are the donors of bur very existence. Not only have they inspired us to our present selves; but it is their quiet confidence in us which will help us further. In comparison with these gifts, past and future, the dedication of the 1962 REFLECTOR to them, our PARENTS, is but meager recompense. 3 1 4 - MR. MACK D. VIROINIA Congratulations and Best Wishes tor Success to the Senior Class of Thomas Dale From the 1 962 REFLECTOR STAFF Yes, there ' s something in there, but I ' m not sure what. Let ' s do it right this time. 158 The REFLECTOR h as beet) published continuously since 1923. During this time there have been many changes, both in the school buildings and the students. The earlier REFLECTORS tell why some of these changes took place. They do not. however, tell how the REFLECTOR got its name. As years pass, the graduates in the picture will change. Even as their reflections on the surface of the pool waver and become indistinct now, so, in the years to come, will their memories of high school days. The REFLECTOR now mirrors the present; soon it will reflect the past. 1 60 THE LIBRARY OF VIRG [r J !f 1 ,
