Managers The Line Up KNIGHTS GO UNDEFEATED Under the able leadership of Coach Ed Karpus, the Knights opened the 1954 gridiron season with a 35-0 walloping of Culpeper. This marked the beginning of an untied, unbeaten season, the first in the school’s history. The most outstanding game was with Man- chester, a team which the Knights had not beaten for four years. It was evident that the game belonged to the Knights from the initial kick off when Buzzy Haymans scampered 91 yards to pay dirt behind some extremely vicious blocking. End H. O. Lyne saved the day as he outran Manchester’s “All American” halfback, Buddy Davis, 30 yards and caught him from behind to hold the Lancers scoreless the first half. Opening the second half, a fumble gave the Knights another six-points as Buzzy Haymans picked up the ball and ran 34 yards untouched for the score. The third and final score came as the result of a brilliant 25 yard pass from Bruce Nunnally to H. O. Lyne. The game ended 19-7 in favor of the Knights. Congratulations go to Bruce Nunnally, Bobby Dale, Mack Daniels, H. O. Lyne, and Buzzy Haymans, who were chosen as members of the All-Suburban Team. “We won the toss!” Co-Captain: Bruce Nunnally igeenaeal hist | Opposing Captains Meet 1954 SCHEDULE _T. D. How- ever, the lovers, Squire Prindel and Widow Selby, faced Opposition by their children throughout the play, which offered great comedy. The comical situations evolved by the twelve varied characters made the play prog- ress rapidly becoming more hilarious every minute. There never was a real wedding, but the surprising and fantastic climax was wonderful. The action-packed play was best described with “never a dull moment.” Directors Mrs. Myra Crump Miss Ellen Conyers The curtain rose to find two young boys who were about to spend a weekend with the aunt and uncle of one of them. They hadn’t expected that Uncle Bob was an undertaker or that a “suest’’, old Mr. Quigley wasn’t really dead and planned to catch the culprit at his own funeral! A romance between young Herc and Nina resulted in a tipoff, which upset the original plans. The climax of the play turned out to be funny and wild!
