Hornet Honeys March Through Successful Year This was a year of new experiences for the Hornet Honeys. The number of girls on the squad was raised to forty to give more girls the opportunity to par- ticipate as a drill team member. The squad, led by senior Diane Eden, marched to the tunes of Georgie Girl and Make Me Smile at a half-time show at the Market Square Arena, the first Hornet Honey squad ever to do so. The girls were also able to march in the 500 Festival Parade. The squad also went through a change of sponsors, as Miss Shirley Smith took over the job when Mrs. Barbara Banks gave up teaching at the change of the semester. These things along with summer camp, performing at home football and basketball games, and marching at mi itary meets with the ROTC units made this year hectic but exciting.
