Diamond Future Bright Over the past ten years, Howe has had many better— than average reserve and freshman baseball teams. The 1974 spring reser ' e team finished with a good 10-5 season record. The Hornets were very strong in pitching, with Ray Littleton, Bill Dixon, Mark Gillespie, Tom Cridlin and Dan Siebenthal. They had a team batting average of .375. The team finished second in the city stand- ings. Mr. Preston commented that the team was very strong in defense and he felt it an honor to coach them. The freshmen had a 2-3 record in a rain- shortened season. They were strong in both hitting and defense.
