Intramurals Fill Need for Many The intramural leag ues in bowling and basketball serve many purposes. They provide recreation for students and serve as an outlet for those who lack either the time or the special tal- ent for varsity competition. They also help to condition athletes whose major sports are out of season. Perhaps the high point of the intramural program is the rivalry between the up- perclassmen and the faculty team in the basketball league. This rivalry reaches its peak in the annual senior- faculty game at the close of varsity basketball competition.
