Orchestra Nothing comes without much hard work. Such is the motto of the orches- tra. Many in the orchestra work hard on solos, quartets, ensembles and other groups. They also work together to make the orchestra not only good but the best. Members keep busy playing in concerts and many other programs. The string ensemble played an im- portant part in the group. They were rated first in district competition and also placed first in the State Solo En- semble contest. Mr. William Christoff, new orchestra director, also kept all members busy practicing for the important concerts. A. Orchestra concert mistress Gwyne Ckroniak conducts string ensembh. B. ' ilij|ii|E ' li ■Wt u- J, By playing for the football games in the fall and the basketball games in the winter, the Howe band helped to boost the spirit of the teams and the school. Keeping busy in the extracurricular ac- tivities, the band played in the Vet- eran ' s Day Parade, the May concert and commencement. They also played in the 500 Festival Parade.
