Changing Classes Five mintues to go. It ' s almost over. Four minutes to go. Almost time. Three minutes to go. Just a little longer. Two minutes to go. Keep going, clock. One minute. Almost here. At last. Got to get to my locker, All this bumping. Get out of my way! Yes, teacher? Me? Of course not. I didn ' t knock his books. Go where? Room 124? But . . . I know, Room 124. What did I do? Well, you see, uh . . . Okay, Room 268. 3:1 5? But, but . . . Could I have a pass? I know I ' m late to class. Kevin Moorhead Reflections The hails are quiet now; only teachers. It ' s hard to imagine three thousand people scrambling in different directions after the sounding of one little bell. shouts and excitement of a crowd at a basketball game, a wrestling match, even a pep assembly. just for the sake of winning, but for The auditorium is deserted. No one practising his or her lines for the senior play. No sounding of the orchestra at the conductor ' s command for the annual musical. Not even the sound of one lone speaker from the podium. Even the classrooms seem desolate. Another janitor washes the day ' s knowledge off the blackboard. No more slamming lockers or dropping books until tomorrow. Well, until tomorrow for some. Will memory actually preserve four of the most nerve-racking, exciting, disappointing, fun — the best four years of a person ' s life? Four years come and go about as fast as a favorite class. The beginning of high school, with all of its unsureness and confusion, soon becomes the finale and then it ' s time to leave. Leaving is part of being a senior. The sad part, but the necessary part. Maybe someday I ' ll just look back and smile, or come back and remember. hsHHH

D.E. and C.O.E. programs gave students on-the-job training. Mrs. Yvonne Perry sponsor of the C.O.E. program, and Mrs. Debbie Bareford, sponsor of the D.E. program taught the job related classes, and supervised the part- icipants in the program. Exploring in the field of medicine, students interested in the Health Careers program could spend a half-day working with dentists, doctors, hospitals, nurses, veterinarians, and speech and hearing thera- pists. Open to seniors, Health Careers enabled participants to work with the elderly, crippled, children, and animals. Mrs. Teresa Hulburt sponsored and taught the class. Male Chauvinism? Not in the Industrial Cooperative Training program. Although only males participated this year, sponsor Mr. Jack Lawson said that if girls wished to en- roll, they would be welcbnie. They will learn a trade that involves auto ihnecin-anfcs, printing architedtural drawings carpentry, and radio and television repair. . ' .
