Seniors ' gem fdfkaf cad! added, We've come a long way since our first days at Howe. As freshmen we were notorious for walking into the wrong classrooms at the wrong time, but as sophomores we no longer received the kidding, but, instead, passed it along to the freshies. Our junior year we had our own Junior Prom, and on May 23, when we received our senior rings, we were just a short step from the biggest and best year at Howe ..................t......... our senior year. The first recognition we received as seniors was the choice seats in assembly, Having homeroom in the cafeteria was another of the honors given us grown up Howeites. The first thing on our calendar of senior events was the election of officers. After sev- eral days of balloting we chose the big five who were to preside over the class of '58 We soon found out how busy all the senior activities would keep us as we were all placed on a committee. Choosing our senior colors was an important LEFT- Charlie , measuring Frankie Nims for her gown, has many duties as senior sponsor, and is always on the job, MIDDLE-Many times seniors may be found in the senior office looking over the college notices on the bulletin board. Here Bob McLaughlin, Janet Cole- iob. Selecting the right band for our senior prom took a lot of discussing and considera- tion. The annual winter party was a lot of fun. Our class day and spring party were com- bined and held a few days before graduation. Mr. Charles Ruschhaupt, senior sponsor, kept us posted on college news and scholar- ship notices. College bound seniors found his advice helpful in making the big decision. Those seniors not interested in college were informed of job opportunities. After receiving our senior colors, we all pledged we would uphold the ideals that our colors stated, We chose brown, signifying the honor and good which we hoped to ex- tend to our homes, churches, and nation, coral, symbolizing the care we will extend to our mind and body, and, signifying the respect we hold for our school, we chose gold. Vespers were over before we knew it and graduation was here before we'd had a chance to say good-bye to all our friends at Howe. man, and Marion Archer exchange views about which college is best. RIGHT-After announcements are over it's study time in senior homeroom, but some seniors need convincing. Page one hundred four
