Howe's baseball squad, under Coach Rocky Pierson, posted the best season in the history of the school. Showing the spark which led them to a I2-5 season, the Hornets breezed over their first six opponents: Law- rence Central, Greenfield, Attucks, Southport, Shortridge, and Franklin. In the seventh game, they were defeated by a highly rated Broad Ripple team. In their next eight games, the Hornets won five while losing three. ' In the City Tournament, Howe lost their second game to the Tech Greenclads, even though Howe's star 'iw l ' sophomore pitcher, Dave Peters, gave up but one hit, 'V' fmt, , 'TT - the Greenclads squeezed out a I-0 victory.
