The dedication of It the new wing during this seventeenth year climaxed a long wait for 'k ' much-needed classroom space. It featured quarters for the industrial arts xiii L,,lJg department and music departments, publications oiiice and the new ua -Jw-.L ROTC unit. D Along with classes and homework, sports and extra-curricular activities u played a big role in our school life. Our athletic season kicked off with 0f6Dk?ji.,llL the annual Football jamboree at Butler Stadium. A few weeks later fol- A' ., .h - lowed the Brown and Gold Dance in the Howe gym. Soon basketball games ' ' ' ' A came and Christmas vacation was just around the corner. Highlights of A,-4.3. 4 gif, the spring season were the Pleasant Run Revue, May Pageant, and, of . course, our commencement exercises. Other events have been club parties, fl ar 5-f H 16, essay and poster contests, and musical and dramatic productions. J . -V 7!L....,4l0 Even though a lot of this time is occupied with studying, the average Howeite can make the honor roll and also be active in various clubs, committees, and athletics. These people are the ones who are making our Lo. school the better for their having been here. This spirit is what makes -do uf and keeps Howe the successful school that it is.
