Lx 1, S 'bf Period 1 every day is re- served for choir members to rehearse. Choir spreads Ho-we's glor Howe's choir maintained its traditions and added activities during the year. Under the direction of Mr. Frank S. Watkins, the choir sang for radio broadcasts, 400 Club meeting, Open House, the annual Christmas assembly, the spring music festival, and the Women's Prison. They also participated in the Parade of Choruses at Shortridge. The honor of being the first high school choir to sing for the American Guild of Organists went to the group in March. The Choir members can vouch for happy times as well as all of the hard work involved in rehearsing and presenting programs of high caliber. Here Dennis Pullin, choir ac- companist Sally Tinkle and John Heitz en- joy a round of harmonizing with Director Pop Watkins. . choir had the further thrill of singing for the ceremonies which installed Mr. Roy E. Horton fHowe's chief engineerj as Eminent Commander of the Oriental Temple. A choral arrangement of Ravel's Bnlero, complete with dancers, was a feature of the vocal music festival held in May. Final choir appearances of the year are traditionally at Senior Vespers and Com- mencement. .- -.4 Q.,
