Mrs. Mildred Loew, dean of girls, has the pleasure of informing girls of their candi- dacy for queens. Above left she talks to Violet Queen candidates giving them last minute details of the May Pageant. Mr. Alvin E. Geier fupper righty talks over college arrangements with a senior boy, helping him with his plans for the follow- ing year. As senior class sponsor he helps make college and scholarship arrangements for all graduating seniors who plan to con- tinue their education. As counselor to jun- iors he helps plan their high school pro- grams to insure them of meeting graduation requirements. Dig that crazy violin! Three orchestra members tug together hoping to bring the bass fiddle down to solid earth again. With enlarged music quarters in the newly built wing, storage of such big instruments won't be so hectic. Snake charmersf' Members of the Sports- men's Club exhibit garter snakes and a boa constrictor to the camera lens. These snakes represent only three of the many which were on display in the biology department during open house. It begins with a program given by the music Page one llN?lfIl'6d ten department after which parents tour class- rooms and look at exhibits. A Fun Fair is held each year by the Howe P. T. A. Profits derived from this festival are used to buy items such as band and orchestra uniforms. Howe Joes and Janes flower leftj visit an exhibit prepared by the HOWE TOWER staff. Mr. Thomas Stirling and Mrs. Christianna Genrich look over the new schedule of classes for the spring semester. Vice Principal Stir- ling plans the schedule, making sure every student will be in his proper place at the proper time.
