Foreword We, the 1968 yearbook staff of the Thomas C. Walker High School, take great pleasure and honor in presenting our 1968 Edition of the Eagle. We, the staff, have worked very hard in presenting through pictures the highlights of our last years at Thomas C. Walker. There are, indeed, many high school memories that we will always cherish deeply that we would like to share with you. Through pictures we have shown many activities, and special occasions that we hope you will enjoy viewing. We would like to express our sincere thanks to all our sub¬ scribers, patrons, and business establishments for their finan¬ cial and moral support. Our high school years have brought us many experiences that will be helpful to us as we venture out into a challenging and competitive world. Many of us have been inspired to go on to institutions of higher learning. We are hopeful that this will set a higher goal for the underclassmen. 4

A Tribute We, the 1968 Senior Class, wish to express our sincere thanks and immeasurable love to our parents or guardians, who have shown their love and devotion through the past years. We would now like to express our thanks and love to them through the following poem. Easy day of my life I can plainly see, What a rare jewel you have been to me, How your love and life have been a bright ray To lead me in the straight and narrow way. Like a strong bank of credit and supply, No good thing would you withhold or deny, You ' re second only to our Father God, And treading the same paths His Footsteps trod. A faithful watch that beats true at all times, Unmoved by weather conditions or clime, Toiling constantly, without pay or rest, And always giving your children your best. Whatever we are we owe it to you, And all the great things we aspire to do, For your life and your love we ' re very proud, Our meek, thankful hearts at your feet are bowed. Gratitude, honor and praise to you, An earthly angel, sacrificing, true. May we always be worthy of your love, Its equal found only in realms above. Taken from Life Lines by Ivory H. Smith and Isabelle T. Smith. 2 1 2 2 X 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 «2 1 + 2 %2» T T T T T T 6
