Tornese. math team Edison’s Math Team was made up of a group of ambitious students gathering Mondays after school to compute timed math problems. Every other Thursday, the team competed in in¬ traschool matches with other district schools. debate society An organization designed to build debating skills and assist in public speaking found its members active participants in dis¬ trict league tournaments. Although confined to more active par¬ ticipation in the spring and fall, the team found its members ever prepared to resolve that; Congress should prohibit unilateral United States military intervention in foreign coun¬ tries. Spanish club The Spanish Club was designed to help students promote an interest in the language, custom and history of Spain. Sones. chess club An old kings’ sport very much in appeal today, chess provides mental stimulation and challenge to all interested club members. The Chess Club prepares students for competition in school tournaments and helps them to further their ability in the game. math club A club composed of students sincerely interested in mathematics, members found many math challenges.
