national honor society The National Honor Society was one of Edison’s means for giv¬ ing recognition to outstanding Junior and Senior students who had excelled in character, scholarship, leadership and service. Mem¬ bership was based upon student selection by a faculty and student committee. The society par¬ ticipated in social events in which culture was stressed. fhs A newly activated organization at Edison for students of French, its purpose was to stimulate the study of French, reward the high scholastic attainments and create a better understand¬ ing of French culture and civilization.
