Developing a good personality, improving the voice, and learning to speak with ease, sin- cerity, and truth are the chief objectives. A double cast i s run each year for all plays. After the m emb e r s of the two casts have been selected, students in the depa rtm ent without parts, become part of the highly organized stage crew. Each student must meet c e-rtain requirements before receiving his speech credit, such as, debating once and giving one radio play. The department is truly trying hard to grow and improve by buying needed equipment and creating enthusiasm for all units of speech arts.
