I ' of-3 l lv' yd F JACQUELINNE CLEMENCE DORIS COHEN EVELYN COHEN 10011 SAGA OF OUR DAYS C 620 SECOND YEAR As we had pulled through our freshman year at Roosevelt, we were better prepared to face our sophomore year with a brighter outlook. The odor of paint came wafting from our gym, and the shining walls matched our spirits as we entered into the excitement of the first day. We soon found that extra-curricular activities had been discontinued, due to a situation cqncerning teachers' pay. Despite this fact, our dramatic class gave a delightful performance of the play Don't Feed the Animals.!' lt was a humorous comedy performed by our first rate students. Mr. Samuel Godnick and a group of student representatives attended the annual pilgrimage to the grave of Theodore Roosevelt at Oyster Bay, on October 27. Organized by the English Department, a Book Fair was held in our auditorium for the interest of us all. lt was with great delight we browsed around the stage trying to appear intelligent, as we looked at the many books. As our second year came to a close, we felt like old-timers as we went through the procedure of the last week of school. Although we had no memories of a boatride in our second year, we cherishedthose of the new friends we made and old ones met. As we left our new home for the summer, we looked to our future time at Roosevelt as more promising to ourselves and our school. Alice Dunn
