BASEBALL TEAM KCONTTNUEDD Freddie Greenley Senlor Third Base Fred handled the hot corner of the dlamond He was a good thlrd baseman and had a good throwlng arm He wlll probably be our catcher next sprlng klppy Brown Junlor Left Field Sklp played left fleld for the Thebes Tlgers He had the be t throwlng arm on the tear and was a falr hltter Tom y Wllliams Sen1or Center Fleld Tommy hardly ever says anythlng, but you can bet he was on the ball He covered hls fleld well and managed to wlth accuracy Raul Hoeklns Senlor Right Fleld Paul played rlght fleld for the Tlgers and had a good throwlng arm He vas one of the best hltters on the team When the team was in a tlght spot, you could bet that Paul would come through Bob Minton sophomore Extra Inflelder Bob was an extra lnflelder for the Tlgers Although he was on the bench, he was called upon frequently to flll ln posltions ln the lnfleld TRACK The flrst event in track thls year was a trlangular meet with Mound and Ullin We won thls meet There were eight schools in the U P A C Track Meet In this meet, some of our boys wen first place ribbons, ard we took third place. 4 . BASEBALL SEASON Thebes had a very good baseball team this year. The team split the four games which were played during the fall season, losing two games and winning two. Several good players quit school after the fall season ended, so we will have to replace them for the spring season. We are planning to meet at least four different ball clubs in the spring baseball season The scores of the four games played last fall were TEAM THEY McClure Tamms McClure Tamns BASEBALL TEAM Eugene Dalton Senior Pitcher Deacon' was the hurler of the Thebes Tigers e was able to out guess the batters and was a fair hitter He had good control in handling the ball Junior Stamp Sophomore Catcher Junior was the catcher of the Tigers and did a fine Job He was a good hitter He dropped out last semester and will be hard to replace Gordon Creenley Senior F rst Base Gordon played iirst base and was a very good hitter He also played his pos tion well This position of first ba e will be hard to fill next spring since Gordon dropped out of chool, too Jimmie Baker Senior Second Base Jimmie played second base nd did a good Job at this position Along with Lis good position playing he was a good hitter You could depend on him for one or two hits a game Dale Ialden Senior shorts p Dale was HIE Sho tstopn of the ball club Pe Nas a good infielder as well as a good hitter . . . . . - Y I 'X C : 'Y'1 I' NE . 2 O 1 2 1+ .. 13 2 ...-.............. .........L. . 17-nl-gg i-n1Qi 3u.
