Golden Tones THE VOCAL MUSIC DEPARTMENT The Plains High School Chorus con- sisted of fifty-four members -- eighteen sopranos, eleven altos, twelve tenors,and thirteen basses. Two hours of rehearsal were held each week. The members were provided an opportunity to sing as a chorus of girls, a chorus of boys, and a mixed chorus. The group performed for many occasions, including the Christmas Ser- vice and several school assemblies. Under the direction of Mr. Alex- ander Lewis, the group exhibited a well- balanced program of both secular and sacred music. The senior accompanist was Joan Tipton, who was assisted by Carolyn Cade. Librarians were Paul Beck- with, Patricia Lovsey, Donna McDonald, and John Shrieves. 7
