GOOD-BYE AND HELLO 1 Soon I shall lay my books away, and tears will fill my eyes. My heart will be so full of school- days’ end and sad goodbyes. I pick life's jewelled-mlrror up, and In Its depths I see. The past and all the golden hours that It has brought to me. 2 In gay procession come my friends and school mates true and dear. And all the jolly times we had throughout the happy year. And next my teachers come to view. How kind they were to me. How much they helped with lessons, too, each day, so patiently. 5 Those happy days are past and gone, but still why should I cry? Somewhere upon life's silver wave We'll meet, my friends and I. For soon we'll all be sailing toward horizons far and new. As merrily our white ships pass I'll wave Hello to you. 4 Within life's Jewelled mirror, now, I watch my friends go by. And think of all the happy days, Recall them with a sigh. But I'll hold back the tears, because, I know there'll come a day We'll meet and greet and find the Joys we thought had flown away.
