XXIX. No games shall be played in the Club-house between twelve o'clock on Saturday night and the opening of the house on the neXt Monday morning. A No member shall give any money or gratuity to a servant of the Club. I XXXI. No member shall receive any profit, salary, or emolument from the funds of the Club. l XXX11. All resignations shall be made in writing to the Board of Direction, and all interest in the prop- erty of the Club, of members resigning or other- wise ceasing to be members, shall be vested in the Club. OF THE ELECTION OF MEMBERS. XXXI11. N New members shall be elected by a committee to be composed of seven members of the Club Qof

B Y-LA WS. 29 XXIV. The entrance money to be paid upon admission into the Club shall be tvvo hundred dollars. IXXV. The semi-annual subscription shall be due and payable in advance upon the first days of April and October in every year, and shall be fortydive dollars by every resident and twenty-tive dollars by every non-resident member: Provided, how- ever, 'lfhat a. member elected during the last t.hree months of the half-yearly term shall in respect of the current term, pay but one-half of the amount of his semi-annual subscription. XXVI. A non-resident member, on becoming a resi- dent of the city of Philadelphia, shall pay a further sum of fifty dollars and all the subsequent dues of a resident member. -' XXVII, Absence from the United States shall not exempt members from the payment of their sub- scriptions XXVIII. An account shall be kept of all sums due to the Club by members or others having-the

B Y-LA WS. 3 I whom five shall be a quorum for businessj, who shall be chosen as Directors are now chosen, at the stated meeting in April of every year. XXXIV. The committee shall ill vacancies which may occur in its own body by choosing members of the Club to Hll the said vacancies, and shall con- tinue to serve until a new committee be regularly elected. ' XXXV. A candidate for membefsiiip may be proposed to the committee by any member of the Club, who shall state in writing the name and residence of the proposed candidate. , XXXVI. lf the committee, by unanimous consent, shall decide to receive the person proposed as a candi- date, it shall cause his name, with the date, to be registered in a book set apart for the purpose, and to be posted on the bulletin board during two weeks, after which time the committee, by a unanimous vote, may elect him a member of the Club. , XXXVII. If the vote be not unanimous, the candidate shall be rejected, and shall not be renominated within one year thereafter.
