' A motion involving the expulsion of a member shall be' decided by ballot, and the decision of a majority shall be final. Proxies shall not be permitted. or MEMBERS. ' ICICI. 1 The number of members of the Club is limited to five hundred. i 5C5iII. . l No person under twenty-one years of age shall be a member of the Club. ICPQIII. Members may be either resident or non-resi- dent, but non-residents shall not have the right of voting, and on and after the first day of May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-live, no person shall be elected, nor become, a non-resi- dent member. A notice of every meeting of the Club, Whether stated or special, shall be posted upon the bulletin board at least ten days before the time assigned for such meeting, and a copy mailed to each member. - XIV. It shall be the duty of the Board to call a special meeting of the Club, upon the Written request of ten members, and such a meeting may also be called Whenever the Board may deem it expedient. XV. The notice of a special meeting shall specify the time, and also the purpose for which it may be called, and such meeting shall not consider, nor take action on, any matter other than that specified in the said notice. XVI. At any meeting of the Club for action on the conduct of a member which may involve his ex- pulsion, or for an alteration of the By-Laws, one- fifth of the Whole number of resident members of the Club shall be a quorum. For the transac- tion of any other business, thirty resident mem- bers shall be a quorum. XVII. No stranger shall be present at any meeting of the Club.

B Y-LA WS. 29 XXIV. The entrance money to be paid upon admission into the Club shall be tvvo hundred dollars. IXXV. The semi-annual subscription shall be due and payable in advance upon the first days of April and October in every year, and shall be fortydive dollars by every resident and twenty-tive dollars by every non-resident member: Provided, how- ever, 'lfhat a. member elected during the last t.hree months of the half-yearly term shall in respect of the current term, pay but one-half of the amount of his semi-annual subscription. XXVI. A non-resident member, on becoming a resi- dent of the city of Philadelphia, shall pay a further sum of fifty dollars and all the subsequent dues of a resident member. -' XXVII, Absence from the United States shall not exempt members from the payment of their sub- scriptions XXVIII.
