THOMAS DUDLEY BARKER DINING ROOM COMMITTEE 3 ATHLETIC COMMITTEE 2 PARK HARLEY COMMITTEE 1 FOOTBALL I 2 3 4 Co-Captain 4 CHESS CLUB I 2 BASKETBALL I 2 3 4 TRACK I 2 3 4 BASEBALL 1 2 3 4 Gwen a hulklng frame which strikes terror into our opponents in football, hair never more than an eighth of an inch high a fighter s jaws, all combmed with a gentle disposition, one gams an unusual first impression of Tom, one which does not contain ln it all that Tom really is This fact, together with a certaln lack of self assertion and a very sensitive nature, has kept many from more than a superficial acquaintance with him, and from a knowledge of the really Hne and rare qualities which l1e so effectively hidden beneath a stolld exterior The foremost of these is Tom s wit He is gifted with a umque power of expression with which he phrases commonplace remarks ln an original and highly amusing way, with the result that companionship with Tom can never grow tiresome Tom has shown qualities of leadership and good sportsmanship on the athletic field which caused him to be elected to the co captamcy of both the football and the basketball teams. Tell him to be alone often, and get at himself, and above all tell himself no lies about himself whatever the white lies and protective fronts he may use amongst other people. 15
