But there is more to Dale s character than what is readily seen. Quiet at times, always good-natured, he is an essential part of Park School. . . One of the active type, he may often be seen working on Streeter or busy in French workshop . . . His interest in the Later! and Spark has been clearly shown by the outstanding work he has done there. In addition he is quite fond of basketball. By his sincere interest and through his excellent leadership, Dale has contributed greatly to Park and to its tradition. Tell him to be a fool every so often and to have no shame over having been a fool, yet learning something out of every folly. I3

ELINOR MARGARET MAEDER COSTUME COMMITTEE I 2 3 4 MODERN DANCI' Chairman 3 4 FENCING 4 CHORUS I 2 BOWLING 2 3 GIRLS DISCUSSION CLUB I 2 3 4 GOLF 2 3 During the four years in which she has been at Park I' lmor, although apparently quiet and reserved has become one of the best loved kids in the class To anyone in the school who has ever had need of a friend or a boost of morale, she has been both an aid 'md a consolation As Costume chairman, Meanle has made a vital contribution, both in organization and in effort, to the spring productions She seems to have a great talent for linguistics, especially for South Side Lingo At school her main interests are in ceramics, Streeter, and horses, which remind her of Kentucky, where she plans to attend college At home she spends a good deal of tlme with her new Ford of which she is very proud Her fascinating collection of forelgn dolls has resulted from her pre vocational interest 1n small children Write your wishes on the door and come in vip' LJ ,KX 'V J! THOMAS DUDLEY BARKER DINING ROOM COMMITTEE 3 ATHLETIC COMMITTEE 2 PARK HARLEY COMMITTEE 1 FOOTBALL I 2 3 4 Co-Captain 4 CHESS CLUB I 2 BASKETBALL I 2 3 4 TRACK I 2 3 4 BASEBALL 1 2 3 4 Gwen a hulklng frame which strikes terror into our opponents in football, hair never more than an eighth of an inch high a fighter s jaws, all combmed with a gentle disposition, one gams an unusual first impression of Tom, one which does not contain ln it all that Tom really is This fact, together with a certaln lack of self assertion and a very sensitive nature, has kept many from more than a superficial acquaintance with him, and from a knowledge of the really Hne and rare qualities which l1e so effectively hidden beneath a stolld exterior The foremost of these is Tom s wit He is gifted with a umque power of expression with which he phrases commonplace remarks ln an original and highly amusing way, with the result that companionship with Tom can never grow tiresome Tom has shown qualities of leadership and good sportsmanship on the athletic field which caused him to be elected to the co captamcy of both the football and the basketball teams. Tell him to be alone often, and get at himself, and above all tell himself no lies about himself whatever the white lies and protective fronts he may use amongst other people. 15
