After half an hour passed in pleasant social courtesies, the line of march was taken for the dining room. ' it The banqueting hall was embowered -with plants and flowers, anddecorated with iAmerican and Dutch Hags, including the red, white, .and orange flags of the Netherlandsat the time of' the settlement of New' Amsterdam. Above the seat of President Van Dyke was the banner of the Society with an orange Hag as the background. Before the speaking began the boxes in the balcony were filled with ladies in evening dress, who lent additional charm to the occasion. Among ' .these were Mrs. Robert B. Roosevelt, Mrs. P. C.
