Stewart BUHBD UF DIRECTORS To work without pay, giving unstintingly of time, experience, and wisdom, is rare in this land of industrious self-advancement, and yet every member of the Board of Directors of our school district does this conscientiously and cheerfully, each year. Membership upon the Board of Directors is an extremely important of- fice. They control an immense business and social enterprise devoting much time, effort, and ability in the performance of their duties. The operation of The Dalles public schools is probably the largest business in this community and it requires frequent meetings to make policies concerning organization, planning, operation, and management. Our Board, besides operating a S168,000 business the past year, has made many improvements in the system, including the Kurtz gymnasium. Tliey now face the Herculean task of preparing plans for the building of a greater Dalles high school. Our Board has admirably fulfilled its duties during the past year and deserves our highest appreciation. f'N ff3 f ig A .9 'Q' ' -as Mrs. Ray Korg-ge, Miss Patricia Darnielle Secretary, Principal's Office Secretary, Superintendenfs Office 11' 4 i Q. , i3UPEBlIlTEI1DEI1'I Cx Rrillll L-'fl' -XA JE, KJ.
