MESSAGE T0 GRADUATES At graduation time we can hear the words '4Congratulations,' and Good Luckn used on campuses all over the country and these overworked words often seem inadequate to express our feelings. Until we can find better, however, we shall have to use these same words to express the present, complex emotions we feel in the face of our accomplishments. You have just completed a very demanding two years of college life. These curricula of the Connecticut State Technical Colleges are as rigorous as any two year curriculum that we are aware of in the United States. You can have very justifiable pride in having completed these programs. Our pledge to you is that we will continue our efforts to maintain and improve the quality of the programs here at Thames Valley. You can thus be assured that your degree from the College will sustain its meaning and influence in the industrial and academic world. The integrity and academic proficiency of our engineering technology curricula is our most valuable asset and we must uphold them in the face of many pressures. We hope that you will continue your education in many of the myriad ways that will be available to you in future years-any thing from short term, in-plant training programs to formal courses at colleges and universities. In today's complex and rapidly changing world, with its attendent need for the opinions and action of educated men, none of us can neglect trying to keep informed both in our professional field as well as in the current affairs of society. Again, please accept our sincere congratulations on your meaningful accomplishment. We shall follow your careers with interest and pride. Donald R. Welter President 4 1 I 4 -g
