efncoffz 56244 Jlftafofnf On a br1ght September morn1ng 1944 Z1 ererget1c students took the1r places as Freshmen They elected Delores Wooten pres1dent Jerry Bennett v1ce presldent Johnny Walthall sec treas F A M11 ler was chosen as sopnsor of the group The most lmportant event of the year was Freshmen In1t1at1on Wh1Ch was carr1ed out very success fully by the Sophomores Before the year was out Z more new students had JOIHEC1 our class They were Max1ne 1VIcDade and Harold St Clalr Th1s made Z3 Freshmen 1n all Then 1n May we b1d T H S goodbye for three whole months Agam 1n the fall of 1945 we took our places w1th1n the walls of T H S only th1s t1me as Sophomores Th1s year Mrs .T H Settleswas chosen as our sponsor D C Boothby Jr was chosen pres .Terry Bennett v1ce pres Glennella Ga1llard sec treas Th1S year the honor of 1n1t1at1ng the Freshmen was left up to us Th1s was more fun than be1ng 1n1t1ated as we 1I1f11CtCd the pumshment Before the year was out the two new members that had Jomed us as Freshmen left but Ross 1V1cDan1el took one of the1r places Another great honor was g1ven to us and that was serv1ng at the .Tumor Sen1or Banquet At the end of our Sophomore year everyone started looklng forward to enterlng the next fall as .Tumors In 1946 we re entered w1th renewed v1m and vlgor Th1S t1me we were fewer 1n number but h1gher 1n hope M1ss Flora Rogers was chosen to gu1de our g1oup D C Boothby was aga1n elected our pres whxle Jerry Bennett was chosen as h1s r1ghthand man Delores Wooten was called upon to look after our f1nances wh1le Lou1se Dotson was to try and wr1te down our thoughts and act1ons The most 1mportant event of th1s year was our .Tun1or Play Crash1ng Soclety Wh1Ch was d1r ected by MISS Rogers and g1ven on Nov 14 1946 At the close of the football season M1ss Rogers gave a dance for the .Tun1ors and the foot ball boys 1n the H1gh School L1brary Soon after these events were over we began workmg on our .Tumor Sen1or Banquet Wh1Ch was a great success on Apr11Z6 1947 The theme of the Banquet was, South of the Border After the banquet was over the regular lugh school prom was held Another 1mportant event was the Alumn1 Banquet at wh1ch the .Tun1ors were asked to serve On September 8 1947 19 Sen1ors assembled Mr Benny Kennedy was chosen as sponsor D C Boothby was chosen as pres1dent, Jerry Bennett v1ce pres1dent LOUISE D0tS0T1 SCC Yvonne Dan1els treas LOUISC Holl1s was elected reporter Th1s year 3 new members have Jolned us They are Madelyn Cra1g Erma Rhoden and Clyde Blythe Before the f1rst semester ended 3 of the Sen1ors had dropped out They are Ann1tta Arnold Collene Thomason and Ura Lea Pack One of the most 1mportant events th1s year w111 be the Sen1or Play Who Wouldn t Be Crazy? the Jun1or Sen1or Banquet g1ven us by the .Tun1ors and most lmportant of all our graduat1on ?,.,..o ' . . 8 .
