The play takes place in the courtyard of the Good Samaritan Sani tarium on the morning of .Tune first Mr Marshall the member of the board of directors who 15 look 1ng over the sanitarium finds out that a boy by the name of Jimmie Anderson 1S being sent to the sanitarium because he runs around too much and is always getting into trouble Instead of Jimmie being sent Jack Marshall is sent by mistake Jack who is always being caught by the police for speeding is called Speedy Mr Marshall decides that leaving him there will be a good lesson for Jack so he pretends not to know .Tack .Tack unds out that the Sanitarium 1sn t so bad after all when he discovers that Miss Lois Meridith and some of her company are there at the Samtarium to put on a play for the inmates Lois tries to be real n1ce to Jack thinking he is mentally 1ll All the girls fall in love with him except Lois whom he really loves She thinks she is in love with Reggie Mortimer a sissy type boy of her company Evelyn Winslow is awealthy patient and is mentally ill because she thinks her sweetheart has been killed Jack finds out th t her sweet heart isn t dead and that he 1S a friend of his He sends for Edward, her fiancee When he arrives he and Evelyn are married Evelyn is completely recovered Mr Marshall thinks he has punished Jack long enough so he tells the Superintendent of the Sanitariurn that Jack is really his son By this time .Tack 1S really fond of Lois so he tells the Superintendent that he doesn t even know Mr Marshall Evelyn lends her Jewels to Lo1s to wear in the play Before Lois had a chance to wear them some one took both Lois and the Jewels Two inmates who were not crazy swiped the Jewels and took Lois with them .Tack goes in search of them and soon returns with Lois safely.
