Never have world affairs called for leaders with broader understanding of national and international affairs and with more stability of purpose for the right. You will need an inner sense of values which comes only from a willingness to serve and to sacrifice. We as individuals or as a nation, it matters not how much we might wish other- wise, can only start from the place we are now standing. That position today, and for the immediate future, seems to be fraught with much ten- sion. Thus this is not an era for summer patriots, who will crack under the strain, but a time that challenges the sterner qualities of toughness and courage, tempered with patience. If we blend the attributes of our frontier forebearers with the wisdom and justice of our Divine Father, our chances of riding out the storm will be greatly enhanced.
