-J ■ txts The mums may have frozen, but Tech Homecoming 1976 was a success anyway. Students and alumni united in spirit to boost the Raiders to a 34-7 victory over the SMU Mustangs. The football game was delayed for an hour and a half while officials cleared the field of almost six inches of snow. The stands were almost full of spectators by the start of the game at 3:30, but interest quickly shifted from the activity on the field to snowball fights in the stands. Homecoming Queen Sharon Kelton, a senior from Muleshoe, was crowned in the midst of a snowstorm. Sigma Phi Epsilon sponsored Kelton. The Homecoming parade was post- poned for a week due to weather. The parade was held before the game against the University of Houston. Alpha Delta Pi and Lambda Chi Alpha won the float competition with a float entitled The sky ' s the limit! Tech President Cecil Mackey was guest speaker at the annual Century Club dinner, Nov. 12. A variety of activities were included in Home- coming Week.
