Mason was spon- sored by UC Programs New Artist Series per- Tormer Steve Fromholtz sings a ballad at his concert. Dr. Kamalaksha Das Gupta of the physics department gives a Chalk Talk on sci- ence and society. New image for a new face UC Programs Council took advan- tage of enlarged facilities to expand programs for Tech students. Among the new programs were the New Artist and Courtyard Series, featuring mu- sical talent from around the state. UC Programs Council Coordinator Dcbra A. Jones was pleased with the success of both programs. We couldn ' t be more pleased with the Courtyard Series, Jones said. Volunteers from Lubbock and Tech taught about .15 Kree University courses during the fall semester and 30 courses in the spring. Classes ranged from bartending to bicycle repair. Casino Night was sponsored jointly by UC Programs and the Residence Hall Association (RIIA). Students gambled for play money and then bid for prizes donated by local merchants.
