It says something worth saying; it conveys a thought-provoking message. Rather than sterilizing itself as the portrayal of a sin- gle year, it draws from the past and grasps for the future, while always trying to capture the spirit of the times. Making a complex life expe- rience tangible on paper is what a yearbook is all about. Produc- ing a book students can relate to, a book that mirrors and expands upon college life involves burrowing beneath the surface to find something meaningful. A sensitivity to the ever-changing faces and feelings of the student body is the ground level to build upon. This year Life has tried to record the events that made 1971-72 at Tech. A new section, The Beat of Life, focuses on the often humorous spontaneity of campus life and takes a pictorial look at some of the more serious happenings.
