Someday 1 want to take a trip around the worldfl Such is the secret ambition of Dr. lfdward Newlon Alones, President of 'llexas Technological College. Dr. Jones' love for traveling is not new. During the sum- mers of 1929 and 1930, he was head ranger naturalist in the education division of Yellowstone National Park. And re- cently, Dr. and lllrs. Jones enjoyed an extensive trip through the great Northwest, including Glacier National Park, Lake Louise, and Yosemite National Park. Closely allied to their traveling hobby, the sloneses enjoy developing and enlarging pictures taken of the National Parks. Dr. Alones' love for the outdoors is well-recognized, as he is a Past-President of the Heart Ol 'llexas Council of Boy Scouts. A native liansan, the tall administrator was graduated from Ottowa University, Ottowa, Kansas, in 1921. He re- ceived his Ph.D. from Iowa in 1925. From Iowa ,he jour- neyed to Baylor, where he was head of the Department of Biology, and later, Dean of Arts and Sciences and Dean of the University. ln 1942, Dr. jones took the head reins of Texas A. Dr. Jones likes to spend time with his family. His photography-minded son, Allen, is a senior at Lubbock High School. And Dr. jones, daughter, lflaine, is a sophomore at Ottawa. And there are Queenie and Blackie, the two woolly, but very friendly canine members of the household. Both the Dr. and Klrs.
