CDFFICE or THE PRESIDENT MRS' ANNA B- GIBSON PRESIDENT VVILLIAM M. VVHYEURN with clerk, MRS. XIARCELLA ADeocK Secretary to President Whyburii . L To b'l'UDI5N'1'S, lix-s'rUDENTs, AND FRIENDS l OF TIEXAS TEeHNor.oG1cA1, COLLEGE: 1 The college year 1945-46 stands out in the history of Texas Technological College and indeed in the his- tories of all colleges and universities. The coming of peace just before the opening of this school year, and the consequent change in outlook for all people of the world, was reflected in every phase of campus activity. The return to our campus of young men and young women from service with the armed forces inspired enthusiastic college spirit of a type unknown for the six preceding academic years. VVith rapidly increasing enrollments and enlarged educational demands immediately before our college, we face a future of great development. The direction of many of these developments is indicated by actions already taken or in process. ln these, and in others yet to be formulated, the interest and support of every student, ex-student, and friend of the college is needed. VVe know that we will have this and it is a pleasure to look forward to working with you to the end that Texas Technological College continue its rapid development as an outstanding major educational institution of America. Sincerely, XVILLIAM M. XVIAIYBURN President
