FOREUUORD Our college is a combination of individual ideals built from tfie visions and efforts of thousands of Texans, living and dead. For thirty-five years students have entered — each one add- ing something to our institution, each one leaving with new aspirations, standards, and increased wisdom. Student life has become more and more democratic — un- affected, sincere; with an attitude, not of worldly cynicism, but of eagerness and enthusiasm for the future and its problems. Progress, the motivating force of T.S.C.UU. ' s campus, how- ever, is two-fold in aspect. In keeping with the ever-changing and increasing student body — its life and its traditions — the college has grown steadily in buildings and equipment since the school was founded in 1903. Proudly the student body sings its RIma (Tlater, On brood and rolling plains ' neoth Texas shies there crowned in majesty thy buildings rise. So as a tribute to the college and student life, the Daedalian Annual is attempting to reflect the personality of the 1937-38 campus and to picture the typical T.S.C.UL). girl at worb— at play.
