school this year. XVe hope you will accept The Texas School for the Deaf was esf tablished by our forefathers for the purpose of educating deaf children. The first stuf dents to enroll in this school was in l8'57. Since that time 3.293 students have received training in this institution. With the cooperation of the student body many changes have been made this year. These changes have been made. because progress results from dissatisfaction with things as they are and the desire to make them better. Progress demands courage and is only achieved through effort and sacrifice. Progress is to do a thing first and bettere to keep ahead of the burden of leadership and to suffer the jibes and jeers of the self' satisfied who find it easier to scoff and to scorn than to do. Vxfe feel We have made progress this year. and We hope that prof gress will dominate the lives of those leaving the challenge to continue to make progress in your Own personal lives and reflect credit on this school as Well as the State of Texas.
