Consequently, we the class of '46, thought it only fitting to devote our Yearbook to this century of progress. During her one hundred years in the Union, Texas has developed from a land with no industry or income into one possessing not only the greatest cattle and oil industry in the Union, but also the plans and the momentum toward another one hundred years which will mold it into as great an industrial state as it is novv an agricultural state. As you turn through the pages of this Yearbook, therefore, We hope they will remind you of the one hundred years gone by and that you Will see in them the history of the struggle to fashion from the Wilderness this vast southwestern empire. Texas Military Institute has had the privilege of training leaders and men of character for Texas in the past, and it will continue to furnish leaders of the Texas of tomorrow. And so the Yearbook dedicates itself to the first one hundred years of Texas in the Union and looks forward to the second hundred with courage -and vvith the blueprints! '35 4?

Bondurant, Sr. These men stand among the ranks of honored fathers who have carved from this wilderness an empire. With the courage, hardihood, and moral conviction of pioneers, they have sown into the minds and hearts of countless thousands of their fellow beings, wisdom, righteousness, and noble living.
